Wide application of ETFE membrane materials

ETFE (ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer) membrane materials have a wide range of applications. In addition to stadiums and transportation facilities, they are also widely used in the following fields:

1. Construction

ETFE membrane materials are particularly prominent in the construction field. In addition to the stadiums mentioned above, they are also widely used in commercial buildings, exhibition halls, cultural facilities, etc. For example:

Compared with most photovoltaic backplanes on the market that use PVDF and PVF as the outer fluorine film, ETFE has better weather resistance, heat resistance, scratch resistance and hydrophobicity, and is a more ideal photovoltaic backplane material. In the domestic photovoltaic cell industry, ETFE film has begun to be used in flexible photovoltaic cell encapsulation materials. The components are composed of upper ETFE film, EVA layer, battery layer, EVA layer, and lower ETFE, which realizes flexibility and portability.

4. Wire and cable field

ETFE film is also used in the insulation layer of wires and cables, especially wires and cables in the aerospace field. Due to its high mechanical strength, low relative density, and radiation resistance, ETFE has become an important material for making insulated wires and cables in the aerospace field. In addition, ETFE can also be used in electrical insulation and heat shrink tubing, wiring and cables (such as wrapping computer terminals and heavy power circuits) and other fields.
