TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) are two common plastic materials with significant differences in multiple aspects. Below is a detailed comparison between TPE and PVC:

Elasticity:

  • TPE: Excellent elasticity, capable of high stretching without breaking.

PVC:

IV. Identification Methods

Flame Color:

  • PVC: Green flame at the base.
  • TPE: Blue flame at the base.

Burning Odor:

  • PVC: Releases pungent chlorine fumes.
  • TPE: Produces a mild, sweet smell.

Flame Retardancy:

  • TPE: UL94-HB (continues burning after ignition).
  • PVC: UL94-V2 (self-extinguishing).
