ETFE air pillow system

ETFE is rarely used in single-layer film form. Its most classic and successful application is the "ETFE inflatable air cushion."

Structure: 2-5 layers of ETFE film are heat-sealed at the edges and fixed to the main support structure (usually a steel structure or grid) using clamps, forming a sealed inflatable unit.

Working Principle:

Inflation: Low-pressure air is injected into each air cushion, causing the middle air layer to inflate and form a stable "buffer."

Intelligent Control: The air cushion is connected to a central inflation system that automatically adjusts the internal air pressure in real time based on external wind speed, snow pressure, and temperature to resist deformation and ensure structural safety and energy efficiency.

Advantages of the Air Cushion Structure:

Superior Thermal Insulation: The middle static air layer is a natural insulation layer, with insulation performance far exceeding that of single-layer glass, achieving the effect of double-glazed windows.

High Structural Stability: Inflation puts the film in a pre-tensioned state, significantly increasing stiffness and enabling it to withstand wind and snow loads.

Variable Shading and Optical Effects:

Printing Technology: Different densities of silver-white dots can be printed on the intermediate film, precisely controlling the shading coefficient and light diffusion to achieve both energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

Dynamic Shading: Some advanced projects utilize double-layered air cushions with different printed patterns. By fine-tuning the air cushion pressure, the shading area can be dynamically adjusted.
